I'm Jan-Philipp Strobel, 22 years old living in Schwaebisch Gmuend, Germany. I have been working as a photojournalist since the age of 18; since July 2010 it is my full-time job. I take photos for numerous daily or weekly newspapers as well as for magazines. With my work I cover a wide range of topics such as: sports, business, culture, politics, landscape and people. Because I'm working in journalism, too, I can report both with pictures and texts.
"I show things as they are – I show reality..."
My motivation for being a photojournalist is the fascination of taking pictures in the very second which determine whether a photograph is good or bad. In former times the moment was recorded with paintings, today's photography keeps the moment, in high-speed. But unlike an artist I do not show things as they should or should not be, but as they are – I show reality.
